The Big Blue, not surprisingly, got a headstart in the PC gaming industry as soon as the first IBM computer was released. IBM's management quickly saw that good IBM games would be an effective way to entice users of Apple II and other systems to try out the new machine. IBM therefore both developed and published numerous early PC games, including many classics such as Alley Cat and Shamus. It published most of Sierra On-Line's (then On-Line Systems and SierraVision) games, as well as Microsoft's. Related companies: Microsoft, Sierra On-Line, The Learning Company, Micro Sports.
