In Jetpack, you play a generic adventurer who must gather all gems from each level to proceed to the next one until you've finished all hundred of them. The action is executed in a labyrinth-platformer way, with a strong dose of puzzle-ism. In its own close-quarters, fast-paced C64-reminiscent sort of way, Jetpack is a satisfyingly nostalgic experience. A hundred levels in itself is enough to keep you busy for a fine amount of time, but as if that weren't enough, there's a nice level editor bundled with the game, and because of this you can easily drown yourself in the sea of Jetpack levels found on the Net. As a game it's fun, challenging and sometimes frustrating – recommended, especially for younger gamers. That's not to say I wasn't getting stuck myself, nooo. :-) There's an alternate graphics set available, which turns the game into a Christmas version, with Santa Claus in the starring role and purloining gems replaced with delivering Christmas presents, of course. Overall, Jetpack is simply one of the most addictive puzzle games you'll ever play. Recommended! Reviewed by: Eino |
