XSynergy Gate is an outstanding 3D shooter from Sexy Death Entertainment, makers of Die Slave. The game is a vertical shooter that boasts excellent production values, jaw-dropping graphics (especially if you have a 3D card), lots of cool weapons and power-ups, and very good ship designs, all rendered in full 3D. As in Die Slave, your ship can transform into a robot (Japanese "mecha"), with access to different weapons. My only quibble is that your ship rolls along the side in 3D when it moves instead of just laterally in 2D like most other shooters. This takes a bit getting used to and makes me feel that I’m piloting a rolling beach ball instead of a spaceship ;) Still, that's a very minor quibble compared to the excellent graphics and gameplay. If you enjoy quality shooters, XSynergy Gate is simply a must-have. Two thumbs up, way up!Reviewed by: Underdogs | |
