Su-27 Flanker is a very accurate and detailed flight simulation of the Russian Su-27, developed by Eagle Dynamics, a Russian team, and SSI. It doesn't have flashy textured graphics, which were standard even back then, but actually the "clean" and sharp graphics with detailed animated objects do a great job in portraying the game world. And they are smooth even on a low 486. Su-27 Flanker comes with a powerful mission builder/planner and many preset missions, but sadly lacks any campaigns or pilot career options. It's all about the flying experience, mission planning and building. It's a great game with many nice details that show the love and labour that has gone into this game. For example, the reaction times for the controls (gears etc...) are not instant as seen in most games, but just exactly the way they are in the real Su-27, like it or not. It supports local networks for multiplayer missions. Overall, an excellent game up in the ranks with Tornado or Falcon 3.0. However, you might be disappointed if you're expecting something more in the tradition of Microprose. Two thumbs up, way up!
