Terminator: Rampage is the third game in Bethesda's "The Terminator" (tm) series, in which you must travel to the past in order to protect the future. The plot is standard post-apocalyptic mumbo-jumbo: it's the year 2029 in Los Angeles. They thought the holocaust had ended when the Orbital Platform was destroyed. They were wrong. SkyNET launched a Doomsday Plan. You must destroy the Machines before they terminate Mankind. |
The game is based on the engine used in earlier Terminator 2029, but with obvious graphics enhancements. Despite more impressive graphics, however, the gameplay is somewhat inferior to the first 2 Terminator games from Bethesda due to numerous bugs and boring level design. The game feels rushed and unfinished-- as if Bethesda was scrambling to meet a publishing deadline. This is unfortunate, as the game has a good potential to be a great game once kinks in the engine and all bugs are ironed out. Overall, a good effort that doesn't live up to other Terminator games. Play its sequel Future Shock instead.
