Best known for the innovative Magic Candle RPG series, Mindcraft was founded in mid-1980s by Ali Atabek, veteran designer who was responsible for SSI classic Rings of Zilfin. The company also developed and published a number of lesser-known tactical-level futuristic combat games, although none of them came anywhere close to X-Com in terms of playability and fun factor.
